The San Antonio Spurs may have won all of 22 games this season, but their future is bright thanks to the rookie season put up by Victor Wembanyama -- the man that many (including us) have called the NBA's Next Big Thing for a year now!
Wembanyama played 71 games this season, averaging 21.4 points, more than 10 boards, nearly 4 assists and nearly 4 blocks per game. What's really crazy about the block stat is that Wembanyama would get many more if opposing teams attempted to shoot anywhere near him. Wembanyama, aka "Wemby", is like a good shut-down corner in the NFL. They just don't put the ball anywhere near him. He already has more career blocks than 87% of anyone and everyone who ever put an NBA jersey on!
Save Wilt Chamberlain, Wembanyama may have just put up the best overall rookie season ever played in the NBA. His rookie year bested even LeBron who put up 20.9 PPG, 5.5 boards, 6 assists, and was 5% worse in terms of field goal percentage.
Next and next with Caitlin Clark, Wemby has been our best seller over the past year. We've seen strong sales of his Panini Instant, Topps Now, and Hoops cards - both graded and Certified Mint+ condition.
We've heard lots of love for our 3-card Panini Instant bundle and our 4-card Panini Instant + Topps Now bundle. And they're still available if you didn't take advantage previously.
There's nowhere to go but up for the Spurs and expectations will be even higher on Wembanyama next year as the team and organization evolves around him.
